Oh, How I Cried!

The story I'm working on now is very special to me. As I said in one of my narration videos, I'm manifesting storylines. This is one I've been working on for maybe two or three years now, and for the most part, the story's premise would come to me in bits and pieces. Whenever I got an idea, I'd write it out and once that Idea was typed out, the well would go dry, and I'd stop, close out that story and go on to something else.

Well, when I finished editing and revising the last story I worked on before this one, I couldn't get the characters of this book out of my mind. At the time, I didn't really have an idea to move the story forward, but I didn't figure it would hurt to read over what I had. I'm glad to say that since re-opening that story, I've added to it considerably. I'm proud of how it's turning out, and love how it's going so far.

To see what I'm talking about when I say, "I'm manifesting storylines" I'll post the link to that video here: (Manifesting Storylines). I may do a part two to this video to describe how I do it.

Honestly, I wish I had thought to do this years before. More of my unfinished stories may be done by now. Anyway, I've been enjoying this story now more than ever, since the storyline is clearer in my mind. It's just fun to write on, now that I have something else to write.

Tonight (February 13, 2023), I was on a roll. I typed out maybe over 2000+ words and I was closing the story out to save my progress. Well, the program I was using malfunctioned somehow and my progress didn't save. When I saw that my progress did not save after all those hours and all that work, I broke down. I hadn't cried that hard in a long while. My oldest held me as I cried.

Part of the reason, other than losing all that work was this: I can't find a real job. No matter how hard I try, I can't get a job. Not even one working from home. I honestly don't know how friends and acquaintences find work from home jobs, becasue no matter how hard I try, I go through job listings and can't find one. Writing is my passion. It's what I know, and I honestly feel like if my stories are polished enough, I can make money with them. I feel like people will like my work if they just give it a chance. To lose that much progress made me feel helpless.

I was so focused on the story, I actually didn't realize I failed to turn on AutoSave. But I never had to worry about it before. That program has never crashed like that before. Even in the past when the program did crash, my progress would still be saved. Losing that work hurt on a level I never quite experienced. It was like losing a huge amount of money or losing an expensive piece of jewelry. My books are valuable to me, so it just hurt to lose.

Thankfully, I was able to remember the gist of what I wanted to write. I redid some of it and am too tired to do the rest now. I'll take my eldest child's advice and take some notes on what I want to write so I'll remember next time. But man ... all that progress lost just ... ugh, that was so damn gross. Talk to y'all later!

Upcoming Projects

Hey, guys! Here are some of my upcoming projects. I'm working on manuscripts right now. I have to go through and do some editing and rewriting, and it's coming along. Not as quickly as I would like, but still... I'm trying to decide which road (publishing-wise) will be best for my brand of stories. I'm an erotica writer. I also have my toe dipped into a children's book (different pen name) and a book on pop culture and my experiences with it. There is also a biography in the works and a self-help-style thing that may just wind up being a blog. I don't feel I have enough material for it to be a book. If I decide to go with an agent, hopefully, there will be one who understands and shares my vision. When I write erotica and romance, I don't always keep just the woman's perspective. I try to show things from the man's point of view as well. I like to show what people are thinking, how they are feeling, and what they are going through. When you watch a m...

Do You Believe in Ghosts and Spirits?

Do You Believe in Ghosts and Spirits?   Do you believe in ghosts and spirits? I do. I'm about to tell you a few of my experiences. I only wish they weren't real, but alas... these things did happen to me, and I can never forget them.  At the age of nine, my mom and I were living with her boyfriend in his childhood home with his mother, brother, and sister. It was a pretty nice house in one of the older (and now roughest) parts of town on the west side called Ensley. I was home alone that particular day, and have no idea where the four grown-ups of the house were. I had no worries, as I sat alone in the back of the house watching television. It was sunny out, no winds, and nothing wrong with the power, yet the television went off on its own. I didn't try to explain it away. I simply ran from the back of the house through the room my mom and I slept in, out of the brother's room, straight through the dining room, and out the living room door. SCREAMING! I ran to the house...

So, It's Christmas Eve

Hey, y'all! So, it's Christmas Eve and I haven't posted in a bit. I decided to post a couple of Christmas poems here for you. One is the original version of A Visit from St. Nicholas . The other is a darker, goth version of the same poem. I love both and can't choose which one I love more. I think they're about even. Anyway, enjoy the poems, and have a very Merry Christmas! See ya next year!!! For those of us who don't mind a bit of tradition on Christmas Eve: “ The Night Before Christmas ” ‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads. And mamma in her kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winter nap. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my b...
