Excerpt and Blurb from My Upcoming Book: Until Death

 Excerpt:

Lt. Potter slowly entered the darkened house and breathed in the familiar scent. Nothing in the house changed in all that time. The furniture was well kept, the pictures on the walls had faded only slightly, and even the knick-knacks were intact. Evan didn’t know what to do about the house after his parents left it to have a bigger house built in the country. They wanted to live near Lynée’s parents, but he thought about selling the old place. He said he might at least rent it out. Why not make money off of it?

Lt. Potter thought she heard a sound. Cautiously, she went upstairs while her colleagues checked out other rooms around the place. Her service revolver was drawn, and the air was stuffy. She would turn on the air conditioner if she weren’t searching for the man she loved. She listened to every creak, bump, and footstep to gauge the level of possible danger. Her eyes and ears were working past full capacity, and she started to get goosebumps. Adrenaline rushed through her veins as she sensed something sinister mere feet away.

Her partners caught all of the people hiding out around the home. She heard their deep, intimidating voices yelling orders of “FREEZE!” “DON’T MOVE!” or “DOWN ON THE GROUND!” All of that was in the back of her mind. She inched her way down the hall. Suddenly, someone tried to attack her in the dark. Lt. Potter’s fighter instincts took over and she knocked them out cold. She looked at who the perp was, and the man seemed familiar, though she couldn’t place him.

She didn’t readily recognize him as anyone with any real significance. Two impressed uniformed policemen dragged the unconscious idiot away. Lt. Potter shook her head and kept moving along the dark hallway. Suddenly, she made her way to Evan’s old room. Why was he tied to a chair? What the hell was that strapped to his chest? She was about to hurry into the room, but Evan, with tears in his eyes, whispered for her to stop.

 “Baby, no! Don’t move!”

“Evan? Babe, what are you talking about? I’ve gotta get you outta here!”

“Baby, please, get out! It’s a bomb!”

That was when the ringing in her ears stopped, and she heard the ticking. She heard evil laughter behind her, but she wanted to get him out of there.

“Baby, please! Please no! J-just remember… I’ll always love you and the…”

Upcoming Projects

Hey, guys! Here are some of my upcoming projects. I'm working on manuscripts right now. I have to go through and do some editing and rewriting, and it's coming along. Not as quickly as I would like, but still... I'm trying to decide which road (publishing-wise) will be best for my brand of stories. I'm an erotica writer. I also have my toe dipped into a children's book (different pen name) and a book on pop culture and my experiences with it. There is also a biography in the works and a self-help-style thing that may just wind up being a blog. I don't feel I have enough material for it to be a book. If I decide to go with an agent, hopefully, there will be one who understands and shares my vision. When I write erotica and romance, I don't always keep just the woman's perspective. I try to show things from the man's point of view as well. I like to show what people are thinking, how they are feeling, and what they are going through. When you watch a m...

Do You Believe in Ghosts and Spirits?

Do You Believe in Ghosts and Spirits?   Do you believe in ghosts and spirits? I do. I'm about to tell you a few of my experiences. I only wish they weren't real, but alas... these things did happen to me, and I can never forget them.  At the age of nine, my mom and I were living with her boyfriend in his childhood home with his mother, brother, and sister. It was a pretty nice house in one of the older (and now roughest) parts of town on the west side called Ensley. I was home alone that particular day, and have no idea where the four grown-ups of the house were. I had no worries, as I sat alone in the back of the house watching television. It was sunny out, no winds, and nothing wrong with the power, yet the television went off on its own. I didn't try to explain it away. I simply ran from the back of the house through the room my mom and I slept in, out of the brother's room, straight through the dining room, and out the living room door. SCREAMING! I ran to the house...

So, It's Christmas Eve

Hey, y'all! So, it's Christmas Eve and I haven't posted in a bit. I decided to post a couple of Christmas poems here for you. One is the original version of A Visit from St. Nicholas . The other is a darker, goth version of the same poem. I love both and can't choose which one I love more. I think they're about even. Anyway, enjoy the poems, and have a very Merry Christmas! See ya next year!!! For those of us who don't mind a bit of tradition on Christmas Eve: “ The Night Before Christmas ” ‘Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house, not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse. The stockings were hung by the chimney with care, in hopes that St. Nicholas soon would be there. The children were nestled all snug in their beds, while visions of sugarplums danced in their heads. And mamma in her kerchief, and I in my cap, had just settled our brains for a long winter nap. When out on the lawn there arose such a clatter, I sprang from my b...
